Qualifications & checks
Trained, and getting fully registered.
Choosing childcare is built on trust, so here's an honest summary of where things stand. Some qualifications are already in place, and others form part of the Ofsted registration process before we open.
Already in place
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Trained and experienced primary school teacher, with classroom experience across early years and KS1.
- Extensive Early Years experience
Several years of focused Early Years practice — the foundation for everything we do at Blackfen Little Learners.
- Paediatric First Aid
Full 12-hour paediatric first aid certification completed, in line with EYFS requirements.
- Safeguarding training
Up-to-date safeguarding training completed, covering child protection responsibilities required for Ofsted registration.
- Enhanced DBS
Enhanced DBS check completed via the update service, alongside checks for adults living in the home.
- Public liability insurance
Childminding insurance in place through a recognised provider, ahead of opening.
- Food hygiene
Food hygiene training completed, so meals and snacks at the setting are prepared safely.
In progress for opening
The final piece before we can open — Ofsted registration is well underway and our URN will be added here as soon as it is issued.
- Ofsted registration
Currently in the pre-registration stage with Ofsted. Our URN will be displayed here as soon as it is issued.
Once registered
When Ofsted registration is confirmed, this page will be updated with our URN, dates of relevant certificates, and a link to our published Ofsted page. We're always happy to show certificates in person at an introductory visit.
