Hello, I'm Amy.

I'm a qualified primary school teacher with extensive experience in the Early Years. After several years in the classroom I'm opening Blackfen Little Learners — a calm, home-based childcare setting where small children can feel genuinely safe, supported, and excited to learn.

My approach is rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage but shaped by years of watching what actually helps young children thrive: warm relationships, predictable routines, plenty of free play, and a grown-up who knows when to step in and when to step back.

Practically, that looks like daily storytelling, songs, messy and sensory play, balanced meals, and lots of fresh air at our local parks and woodland.

Outside of work I'm usually with family, baking, or pottering in the garden.
